Dayton 3VE22 Wet/Dry Vacuum Review

I've been using Dayton wet/dry vacuums since 1993. Since then I've the opportunity to use several other brands as well, none of which come close the the performance and especially the durability of a Dayton. The Dayton motors are built primarily with the 'professional' in mind, so for the residential user this is a added plus.
I've used this model for 14 hours straight; sucking up everything from floor stripper to gravel/dirt and saw dust to irritating little Hack berries off of my trees (picture thousands of pea sized berries that are hard as rocks).
One of the things that set a Dayton apart from other brands like Shop-Vac or Ridged, is the quality of the casters. The wheels themselves are a heavy nylon/plastic, but the axle and axle housing are steel, which is also attached to a thick steel pin that slides easily into a hole on the bottom of the unit. The vacuum itself is also a nylon based plastic, but it's very thick. The dense plastic they use reminds of stuff counties use for their big public trash bins you see on the streets.
It's unbreakable unless you took a saws-all to it. When you get into the 'zone' after hours of cleaning with a wet/dry vac, doing things like pulling the unit around by the hose is common. The units are tough enough, so that the hose can easily act as the handle.
This vac even took a tumble of of my porch roof. My Great Dane ran under the ladder, caught the cord and down my vacuum went. About a 10 foot drop on it's side, but it did nothing but scuff it!
Scared my Dane to death, but he's OK to.
Even though this model doesn't say anything about using it as a blower, the hose can be removed from the intake and attached to the exhaust port and used a blower. It's not like using a stand-alone blower, but it gets the job done nicely for shops and around smaller outdoor areas. It's also perfect for automobile interiors.
Basically, when you purchase a Dayton 'like this model' you will have it forever. There just isn't anything else made of this quality, in this price range that comes close.

Wap 302000414 Attix 8 AS/E Wet Dry Tank Vac Review

I spent a month looking at everything I could to find the very best. I was interested in primarily two things; static water lift capability and the lowest sound pressure level. The Attix 10 and Attix 8 are the winners in that respect. There is no over exagerated manufacturers' ratings. Very solid. The messured average sound pressure level is 60db. I can talk to my wife while it is being used in the house without having to shout at her. The motor has bypass cooling as well. This means that the motor is always being cooled even if the hose is plugged. You DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE FILTER FOR WATER PICKUP. The main filter is washable and lasts a long time. I purchased this machine based on the specs. Supposedly it is dustless. I used it for vacuuming drywall/mud sanding. I actually had the machine outside of the room so that the exhaust won't disturb the drywall all over the place. I looked outside to see that the machine was coated with a light layer of drywall that I sucked up. The filter was on securely by the manufacturer. I also used the pre-filter bag to help the life of the filter. You can see the drywall dust came from the exhausting ports of the machine. The machine is made with durable plastic. The attachments could have gaskets or something to help seal and secure the vacuum. I'd say this is one of the most powerful vacuums I have used, but it is also 2x the amount. It's light weight and moves easily. I was just disappointed that the dustless claim was not real. Also, there isn't a secondary layer when removing the pre-filter bag from the machine, so you might be getting some dust or debris floating around when discarding. The attachments don't secure firmly to the tool holders. Sometimes the tools would fall off when moving the vacuum around. I'd give it 3.5 stars.

Love-Less 160-01 Dustless Wet/Dry and Drywall Vacuum Review

I bought one of the first Love-Less ash vacuums ever sold from the owner of the company more than 10 years ago. I still have it and use it to clean out my wood-burning stove all winter. I bought the wet/dry vacuum 3 years ago and love it still, it really 'SUCKS'. I can fill the vacuum up with sawdust from my table saw and never have to clean the filter. I own 2 wet/dry vacuums and 2 LOVE-LESS ash vacuums. If you have a fireplace or wood-burning stove I would urge you to find out about their ash vacuum they work excellent. Love-Less Vacuum is located in Price Utah.

Ridgid WD1450 14-Gallon 6-Horsepower Wet/Dry Vacuum Review

Ridgid WD1450 14-Gallon 6-Horsepower Wet/Dry Vacuum
Average Reviews:

This vac hits just about every mark right on the nose for me.
PROS:
It has a ton of suction power (as long as you keep the filter relatively clean).
It has a large diameter hose that can suck up large chunks.
Well thought-out attachments. I didn't think I would, but I've used all of them for different applications, and found all to be very useful.
It is very quiet for how powerful it is.
Great carrying handle, and easy to use snap-locks to take the lid off and put it back on.
Long cord, long hose, quite portable.
Great casters, very stable.
CONS:
Just one, but it's nasty: The output blower blows with incredible force on the opposite side of the suction input. Some form of this is to be expected to a certain extent, as the air that is sucked in has to be pushed back out in some way with equal force; I've just seen other designs that manage this much better. This design pushes with equal force out of a hole equal in diameter to the input hole, horizontally out the opposite side. Like I said, the force is great. It is like a leaf-blower. This design is supposedly set up this way so that one could hook the hose up to the output hole and do things like blow leaves... but if you're not blowing leaves, you blow dust, dirt, debris, and other unwanted things out into the air to fly off and settle somewhere else. A nightmare for, say, cleaning up drywall dust after hanging, taping and sanding drywall -- by turning on the vac, you are effectively distributing all the dust on the output side out into the rest of the house.
Don't get me wrong; the suction is amazing, and what you suck up is sufficiently filtered and deposited into the base... It's just that anything that happens to be on the wrong side of the vac will be lifted up off the ground and spread off into the distance. The only way I've found to avoid this is to aim the output hole out a door and be mindful not to tug the vac in too far while cleaning. Seems like a serious nuisance to me.
Are most shop vacs designed this way? I guess I've only seen one other brand's design, which came out the top and somehow spread the "impedance" of the air so that it exited gently out of a vent that ran 360 degrees around the motor, instead of being concentrated into a tight, forceful air jet shooting out of one side.
Overall I really like the vac. It's the most powerful of any I've ever used and has really worked well for all the things I've used it for. I just have to pay close attention to where that exit port is and make sure it won't cause any problems.
