(More customer reviews)I have tried just about every drying product out there and always ended up back with my old bath towels (cotten of course) until I came across this towel. Excellent absorbsion. It takes only one towel to do the whole car, does not leave streaks. I usually use 2 or 3 bath towels. I first use the California blade then this towel. I stocked up on them because they are hard to find around here. Nothing else compares.

The Original California Jelly Blade NEW Version Review

(More customer reviews)I'm not sure what I was expecting this item to do. Oh wait...oh yeah...DRY MY CAR OFF MAYBE? I've had the same Original California Water Blade for about 10 years now and I LOVE it. It's still going strong, I just decided to give this jelly blade thing a try. Absolute waste of money. It's so flimsy it ends up only wiping about 60-70% of the water away and leaving the rest beaded up on my car's surface - similar to a worn out pair of windshield wipers. I'm a car person. I take very good care of all my cars and I've managed to get washing them down to a science. Buying this was a huge step backwards. Did the product developers even try their own product on an actual car? I am very disappointed in this item. Fortunately I still have my original water blade because it actually works. The jelly blade now resides at my local landfill.

Pilot Automotive CC-2010 11" Soft N Dry Water Blade Review

(More customer reviews)This water blade is a wonderful alternative to the more expensive "Original California Water Blade" listed here The Original California Jelly Blade 2010 Version.
Now before I got this product, I have been using an older model of the Original California Water Blade (It has a purple-ish handle and was mainly sold by Costco). Anyhow, that is what I am mainly comparing this Pilot Water Blade product to. And because it is an automotive product, I will review it as is for its intended use.
Here are my pro(s) and con(s):
Pro(s):
- Inexpensive
- Good solid handle
- Perfect for window drying
- Typically streak free
- Nice quality
- Easy and fun to use
- Relatively flat making it easy to store
Con(s):
- The water blade (not including the handle) is approximately 1" shorter (in height not width) than the Original California Water Blade (now this is a con in my view because this makes the water blade seem stiffer when in reality it holds about the same flexibility as the Original California Water Blade and the stiffness is an issue because when I wipe my cars down, the water blade does not flex enough to mold/reach certain areas of the car (e.g., where the hood/bonnet meets the front fender of the car; around the trunk/boot area) thus making these certain areas harder to wipe down dryOther note(s):
- The water blade I received had a RED handle instead of a yellow handle (not a problem for me, but the sellers should show what they are selling)Recommendation(s)/Suggestion(s):
- Overall while washing your car, keep it out of the sun's light (this prevents hard water spots from forming and also keeps tiny debris moist to wash away easier)
- Use car specific soap/washing formula
- Dry car immediately (first using the water blade, then using a micro fiber cloth to soak up the hard areas) after washing
- Wax the car immediately with a micro fiber cloth and a desired waxing product
- Also can use this water blade to wipe down the insides of your shower walls if needed to be driedSo with that, I gave it a 4/5 stars because it could have been better if they used more silicon to add to the blade's height.

The Original California Car Duster 20014 11" Dry Blade Review

(More customer reviews)We have fairly hard water so want to dry the car pretty well after washing. I no longer use a chamois but just use industrial towels - they work fine for a typical waxed car. But it used to take a half-dozen towels - there really is quite a lot of water on a wet car! I bought this because I'd found that an old windshield wiper worked pretty well to knock off the heavy water, but was dangerous... metal parts! This has a double-sided silicone blade and a hard plastic (thermoplastic) spine handle. It won't hurt the paint and knocks off the big water very quickly. In use: I keep the car wet until I've finished washing, i.e. wetting down the whole car when rinsing an area, until finished. Then I sweep off the thick water from a fairly large area, such as the hood and front fenders, then follow it with a towel, and continue. The "blade" does squeak a bit (it's silicone, after all, and a bit rubbery even when wet), but it works fine with a fast, affirmative, sweeping action. And for a really quick wash, I don't even follow with a towel; just take off the big drops with the blade. Takes less than a minute after washing. Good tool.

(More customer reviews)I use this product to dry boats, I have a boat detail business. It works beautifully! it's flexible so it conforms to irregular surfaces like the hull and above the rub rail. Keep it clean though, wipe periodically to prevent dragging fine debris across the surface. I'm not sure why the other reviewer was so hard on this product. I use it extensively and I've had no problems what so ever.

The picutre of the item you are still promoting is of a blade that is no longer available. The CA Water Blade sent to me has a yellow handle and the blade has a different shape. The replacement water blade is not as effective as the original. The blade is soft and collapses when using. It does not work well. Don't waste your time and money. Why advertise a blade that the company advises is no longer available?

(More customer reviews)I am from the old school of detailing - use only super clean soft 100% cotton rags to wipe down a vehicle after a thorough wash. I thought these would surely scratch the dickens out of the paint finish and leave cavernous gouges. Boy, was I ever wrong. These will not scratch the paint as long as the surface is very clean. It sure cuts the drying time to almost nothing. A quick follow up with a chamois to get those hard to reach spots and you are done. If you drop the squeegy be sure to clean it well before using it again to avoid any potential scratching from the dirt.
