Constrict the seat with the valve open to remove the air and it folds to occupy very little space (wife can transport in a large purse). Open the valve and it is self inflating, adjust the amount of air to the desired firmness. The strap allow you to fasten around your waist to carry into and out of the woods. We use these with our "metal" stands that have a wire mesh seat (ouch, not comfortable), these provide a "smooth ride" and the rough edges of the stand have surprisingly not punchured the air bladder. Oh, the price was right and the shipper was very prompt...can't say enough good about the product and vendor. Wife loves it too! We use them as "stadium seats", the strap around the waist allows you to be "hands free" to carry other items. The seat also insulates from cold weather and is waterproof...great design.
